4- BREAKFAST
(BY: JHON STINBECK)
(Prof: Rana Qasim Anwar)

‘’Breakfast’’ is the story of a poor family willing to work happily for a better living. The members of the family had no bitter feeling no complaints, no anger against any person or the government on account of their poverty. They appeared to be contented and resigned at their fate. Contentment was visible on their faces. Rather they felt greatly thankful to God in having found work. They did cotton picking. The writer once had breakfast with those poor villagers. It was quit strange to think that they offered him breakfast and proposed him to go with them for cotton picking. It was the time of great business depression from 1929-1933. Their good attitude was truly a glimpse of purity of living. They passed their lives without any tension. They full enjoyed the each and every moment. They were poor but God fearing living upon seasonal labor of cotton picking whenever the writer thinks about their good attitude he fills with passion.
